新楼村位于尚卿乡西南，地处天马山大尖峰东北麓，村名源于清代的一座大土楼。[2]

名称与沿革[edit]

清代，廖氏先民在此建起一座大土楼，村名由此称“新土楼”，后陆续有人定居成村。[2]

明清时属金田兴一里，民国35年属尚卿乡俊新保。1952年划为第十区俊新乡辖地，1958年归西坪公社新楼大队，1965年划入尚卿公社，1984年改为尚卿乡新楼村。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年12月，新楼村入选第二批国家森林乡村，名单由国家林业和草原局公布。[1]

2020年9月、2021年10月、2022年10月，本村先后入选淘宝村名单。[1]
