新东村位于洛江区北部，东连后溪村，西接南安市，南邻前溪村，北至三村。村名因其从前溪村分出、重新拆设而得。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期为四十七都，民国时属大罗溪乡前溪保，解放初设第一区前溪乡。1958年为罗溪公社新东大队，1969年并入泉州市罗溪公社前溪大队，1984年设罗溪乡新东村委会。[1][2]

1985年改属鲤城区，1987年重新析出设为新东村，1997年划归洛江区罗溪镇。村民多为黄姓，先祖约于明洪武二十八年（1395年）定居于此。[1]

文化[edit]

村内留有清代古民居二十余座，另有彭仓宫、王田宫等庙宇，以及始建于唐代中叶的西龙寺。[2]
