新东村在梅州市大埔县桃源镇东部，属镇乡结合区，共27个村民小组，在册992户、4116人；村域面积23.1平方公里，耕地1327亩，为桃源镇最大的村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
此地旧时是泥源甲的一部分，中华人民共和国成立后定名新东。[1]1958年为新东大队，1983年冬成为桃源区的新东乡，1986年12月改称村委会，1988年又叫管理区，1998年起定名新东村民委员会。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
古大存革命活动旧址（叶庐）在新东村冬瓜坪，清光绪年间建，出资者为罗氏十三世荣叶公；两进两横的院落，下山虎格局，朝向北，正面三开间。[1]敦裕堂是新东郭氏祖祠，建于清代，列为大埔县文物保护单位。[2]敦本堂是明代建筑，列入大埔县第九批文物保护单位。[1]
荣誉[edit]
新东村在2026年3月被认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」。[1]
