村头村位于白莲镇前端，紧邻明溪县，隶属将乐县白莲镇管辖。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名因其地处白莲镇前端、紧邻明溪县而得。据县志记载，清康熙三十三年（1694年）属隆荫都。解放前此地属白莲乡管辖的村头保，解放后归第三区村头乡管辖。[1]

1946年至1948年间，中共闽赣边地委挺进纵队在此建立游击根据地。村于1950年获评革命老区村；1958年公社化后设村头大队，隶属红光公社，1961年10月改隶白莲公社。1984年9月设村头村民委员会，隶属白莲乡。[1]

文化[edit]

2020年12月，村头村入选「2020年福建省森林村庄」名单。2024年7月，村获命名「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]
