南洋村处在梅仙镇的西南，离县城15公里，离镇区3公里，下辖5个自然村。[1][2]

矿产与产业[edit]

村内蕴藏铅锌矿、石灰石和铁矿，形成了矿石开采、运输、加工、销售相连的产业结构。[1]

村里采矿企业中，铅锌与石灰石各有两家；另有两个水泥厂，以及38家加工石粉和石米的企业。从事工矿行业的劳动力超过860人，约占全村劳动力的63％。[1]

村子被认定为尤溪县的新农村建设示范点。村中设有老年人活动中心，配备舞厅、棋牌室、图书馆与健身设备。[1]
