元山村位于嵩溪镇东南面，属革命苏区基点村。村名因村前一座圆形小山得来，“圆”与“元”同音。[1]

村境内有北斗山风景区，以丹山、温泉和原始森林为胜，又有三线建设时期留下的兵工厂旧址。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

村地原属永得乡岩塘保，1956年划归嵩溪区岩塘乡。1958年10月，公社化时它并入英雄公社的岩塘大队；清宁分县（1961年）时改称嵩溪公社元山大队；1984年起设嵩溪乡元山村民委员会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

北斗山又称七星岩，属丹霞地貌，七座石峰排列如北斗七星，故名，景区面积约5平方千米。[3]

洪流机器厂（05）防空洞群与工业建筑群共占地3039平方米，属清流县第五批县级文物保护单位，于2018年7月30日公布。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2020年12月，村列入2019年度福建省「一村一品」示范村名单（花卉）。2021年9月，第二批全国乡村治理示范村的名号落在本村。2022年12月，福建省绿化委员会授予本村「2022年福建省森林村庄」。[1]
