沙溪乡位于福建省三明市明溪县东部，距县城区22公里，距三明市区48公里。乡境东边紧挨三元区岩前镇，西边连着瀚仙镇，南边接胡坊镇，北边与夏阳乡相接，534国道和湄渝高速公路穿境而过。[1]

乡名来自贯穿境内的沙溪河，当年这一段溪流含沙量大，故称沙溪。[2] 乡内出国人员众多，是侨乡，境内也有革命老区基点村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1933年，溪口梓口坊设立了乡工农革命委员会；此前民国初年一带设为二区沙溪乡，1941年又改称溪口乡。明清时这一带归化县归下里十四都。[2]

1987年，这里改称沙溪乡，此前的1983年曾设为沙溪区。1964年明溪县恢复建制后，沙溪公社仍归明溪县管辖；1958年它曾并入岩前公社，1963年才单独设立沙溪公社。中华人民共和国成立后，这里还称过二区沙溪乡和沙溪二区。[2]

地理环境[edit]

沙溪乡属中亚热带气候，海拔在190至550米之间。[3] 境内探明的矿藏有温泉、煤、石灰石、花岗岩和石英石。[1]

森林覆盖率为79.73%，林地达12493.67公顷；耕地7525.22亩。林木中有红豆杉、楠木和三尖杉等珍贵树种。[1]

人口与侨乡[edit]

全乡1852户，总人口6229人。乡政府2026年3月发布的简介中，另列出常住人口2365人。出国人员约占总人口的一半，共3055人（49%），散居在16个国家和地区，意大利、匈牙利、德国等地是主要落脚点。[1]

革命历史[edit]

革命老区基点村有两个，分别是沙溪村和梓口坊村。彭德怀、杨尚昆、王稼祥、谭震林都曾在这一带活动，留下过战斗足迹。[1]

经济与产业[edit]

特色农业以竹林、速生丰产林、柑橘、烟叶、蓝莓和林下中草药为主。乡里设有沙溪农特产品交易中心，蓝莓已有深加工生产线。[1]

荣誉[edit]

  • 2014年6月，沙溪乡由环境保护部授予「2012—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」称号。[2]
  • 2021年1月，被认定为「第三批福建省侨乡文化名镇名村」。[2]
  • 2021年2月，沙溪乡入选「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[2]
  • 2022年12月，被命名为「2022年福建省森林城镇」。[2]
  • 2024年2月，被确定为「第二批福建省乡村振兴示范村镇」创建对象。[2]
  • 乡政府网站另列有「全国未成年人思想道德建设工作先进单位」「全国为侨公共服务体系示范单位」「省级乡村治理示范乡镇」「省级文明乡镇」等称号，未注明年份。[1]
