东门社区位于凤岗街道东部，西侧以建国路为界，东侧延伸到二十八曲；北侧靠鹰厦铁路，南侧临沙溪河，面积约4平方千米。社区因位于县城东部而得名。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年此地设东门居民委员会，2001年6月26日改为东门社区居民委员会。2015年5月，社区办公地迁至凤岗李纲东路6号。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

社区内的城隍庙、宝严寺和天主教堂临河而建，与十里平流、七峰叠翠等沙溪风光相邻。据沙县区人民政府门户网站所载，兴国寺和吕祖庙（赞化宫）也位于本社区。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，社区获得「2023年福建省卫生社区」称号。[2]
