沙溪村位于郊尾镇南部，与枫亭镇相邻，同旸谷、新和两村接壤。村子海拔23米，东北较高，西南略低；324国道经过沙溪一段，交通便利。[1]

村名的缘由：上游的沙石泉水流经此地，水流不断，故名沙溪。[1]

2023年11月，村子被认定为「2023年度莆田市中级版“绿盈乡村”」；2024年1月，获评「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代在此形成沙溪市，属旸谷里，又建沙溪桥，商旅往来便利。明朝设沙溪铺，贸易颇盛。清代时，沙溪有两家票局，以票换取白银；另有五家典铺、四家鱼行，是仙游、莆田、惠安、永春、德化一带的海产集散中心。[1][3]

民国中期并入旸谷保，归香田镇。中华人民共和国成立后仍与旸谷并为一处，1962年另设沙溪大队，隶属郊尾公社。1984年12月设沙溪村村民委员会，隶属郊尾乡；1985年3月改属郊尾镇。村下辖后洋、沙溪、胜和、下街、前染五个自然村，共12个村民小组。[1]

经济[edit]

改革开放后，沙溪利用交通便利的条件，先后开办南泰制革厂、富盛与恒盛鞋革厂等企业。村中多杨姓，与旸谷同属杨寨。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

沙溪杨际普旧居在后洋自然村，属近现代重要史迹及代表性建筑，为仙游县一般不可移动文物点。[1]

沙溪“孝节”坊在下溪自然村，沙溪“乐善好施”坊在塘下自然村，均为仙游县第二批县级文物保护单位。村内另有梅岭亭、积金亭、会元庵和星光寺等古迹。[1][2]
