东盛村位于涵江区三江口镇东南部，平原地带，离海较近，沿福厦公路分布，距镇政府约3公里，距涵江区政府约6公里。村名取其位于东宫方位，寄望繁荣昌盛。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋朝时这里归唐安乡望江里管辖，明清两代划入二区望江里。民国时期先属二区三江乡联保，后归望江乡，称东盛保。中华人民共和国成立后归乡级建制管辖，1958年为生产大队。[2]

1984年12月，此地属望江公社的生产大队；1996年底，村落自原有村落中拆分，此后至今为东盛村委会。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

村域属平原地带，离海较近，有农田739.1亩。福厦公路103公里处的村居沿公路而建，平时的交通主要靠13路公交车。[2]

人口民族[edit]

博雅地名网记全村总人口3300多人、700多户，共12个村民小组，分布在岭头、后卢等几处聚居地，未注明年份。[2]

经济[edit]

村民大部分以务农和滩涂种蛏为主要收入，种植的蔬菜主要有西芹、包菜、西红柿与花菜。[2]

文化[edit]

村中的哆头小学位于哆头市场附近，村里设有两个村卫生所，能应付一般性的疾病防治。[2]

2024年1月，村庄获「2023年福建省卫生村」称号。[2]
