后塘村位于华亭镇东北部，背靠三紫山，村边的濑榜公路与莆永高速公路交错经过。[1]

村内林果资源丰富，地下蕴藏花岗石等矿产，果品加工、矿产开采加工与鞋服加工是村中的主要行业。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名原为后塘坂村，后更名为后塘村。清代以前此地为莆田县文赋里。[1]

清朝末至1949年称后塘坂村，1950年改名后塘村。1958年编入莆田县华亭人民公社，设后塘生产大队；1970年改称前进生产大队；1977年恢复后塘生产大队。[1]

1984年由队改村，归莆田县华亭乡后塘村委会；1986年改隶华亭镇；2002年起划入城厢区华亭镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2020年11月，村庄被认定为「2020年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」；2020年12月，入选「2020年福建省森林村庄」名单；2021年3月，被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」。[1]

2021年10月与2022年10月，村庄两度列入「淘宝村」名单；2024年2月，被确定为「第二批福建省乡村振兴示范村镇」创建对象；2024年9月，被认定为「2024年莆田市一村一品专业村」，主导产业为龙眼。[1]

2025年11月，村庄被确定为「福建省2025年度省级一村一品专业村」（龙眼），同月被认定为「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
