西坑村位于莲花镇西北部，处在同安、安溪、长泰三地交界的云顶山脉腹地，海拔近1000米。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

明代中叶，连智祥从安溪迁来同安定居，在南山尖南麓白坑沟西侧建起村子，村名由此而来。[1]

自然与人文[edit]

村前是峡谷，溪水飞泻；村后耸立高山。村中有800余亩梯田式茶园，游客能跟着茶农采茶，看他们制茶。村尾立着7棵600多年树龄的古松，村中多见用红、青两色石块垒成的古民居，还保留一座600多年历史的私塾。[1]

2009年，村民在山林中发现一株桫椤，据称其族系可上溯至恐龙时代。[1]

沿革[edit]

清代此地隶属感化里的上陵保。1952年10月起划入第五区西荣乡，后又成为西荣大队的一部分；1961年析出西坑大队，1984年设莲花乡西坑村委会。[1]
