东盛村在沙埔镇境内，属镇乡结合区。村名取义于村子所在的东方方位，寄望祖先开发的这片土地子孙兴旺。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代此地属崇德乡平南里六十一都，明代属北二隅，清末归高山镇崇德乡。民国时属六一乡东盛保，之后在第四区东盛乡和高山区江厦乡之间变动。[1]

东盛大队设于1959年，由一个自然村单独分出。进入1981年，村改隶沙埔人民公社；1984年9月，改称沙埔乡东盛村委会，1992年随乡改镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，东盛村获得「2021年福建省卫生村」称号；2023年11月，又被命名为「2023年度福州市绿盈乡村建设中级版村庄」。[1]
