塘下村隶属福建省福州市闽清县省璜镇，位于镇西南部，距镇集镇约2公里。2020年2月，该村入选「福建省第三批省级传统村落」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

古时村内山麓上有两座佛寺，村民称此处为佛堂。村中民房建在庙宇之下，元代一度称堂下；清代以后，因当地方言中“塘”“堂”读音相近，改称塘下。[1]

宋代属永宁乡盖平里，元代为八都辖下的堂下村，明代与邻村同为一图，清代属旌良乡。民国时隶合龙乡省璜保。新中国成立后，该村曾隶属省璜乡、塔庄公社，并在1961年与邻村合并称塘洋大队，1964年复称塘下大队。1984年选举建乡后，塘下成为省璜乡属下的村民委员会。[1]
