塘下村是福州市罗源县霍口畲族乡下辖的行政村，位于乡境西北部，西与闽侯县接壤，北与古田县接壤。[1]

地名由来[edit]

早先居民从古田县鹤塘迁来，村子因此名为塘下。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时属罗平里；民国时期归第四区、第三区，并入福丰乡。1950年属东宅乡，隶第四区；1952年另设塘下乡，1955年又并回东宅乡，归霍口区。1958年撤区改社后，本村划入东宅大队（霍口区辖）；1961年另设塘下大队，归东宅公社；1965年取消区建制，仍归霍口公社。“文革”时期改为大队革委会，1983年起恢复大队管委会，1984年才改为村委会。[2]

文化[edit]

2024年1月，本村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」；2020年12月，被确定为「2020年度福建省一村一品示范村」，产业为食用菌。[1]
