寨头村是福建省福州市罗源县中房镇下辖的行政村，位于镇的西南方向，距镇所在地约6公里，距城关约41公里。村落建在山顶，海拔约640米，是镇内的第二高处，村中下辖湖上楼自然村。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

相传唐末黄巢起义军的一支曾从福州北上，在此驻扎安营，村名寨头即与这段传说有关。[1]

位置[edit]

村子东与镇中心相邻，南与大园村接壤，西与松洋村交界。[1]

自然风貌[edit]

村落处在大山之顶，森林覆盖率高，村周围竹林成片。每年春分前后，林中竹笋破土，常有外地游客前来挖笋、品尝鲜笋。村中有许多百年古树，已列为县级重点保护树木。[2]

经济[edit]

村中以竹木资源为主，竹木产量在镇内居于前列，适合兴办竹木加工厂。湖上楼境内有大片天然草坪，地势高、空气清新，适于发展畜牧业。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年划入二区，村地归显柄乡；1955年改属松洋乡。1958年体制改革，村地成为松洋大队的一部分，归中房公社。[1]

1961年村地析出一个寨头大队，划入中房区松洋公社；1965年又回到中房公社。1984年改设村委会，隶属中房乡。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，村获评福建省卫生村（2021年度）。2021年8月，村入选罗源县第四轮第二批「平安村（社区）」，评定年度为2020年。[1]
