西村是闽侯县小箬乡下辖的行政村，位于乡境西南部，属山区。村子在闽江下游北岸，海拔158米，距闽侯县城约60公里。[1][3]

村名取自村子位于小箬乡西南部的地理位置。[1]

全村有5个村民小组，分为5个片，由5名村干部分片包干。全村219户，总计900人，其中党员32人。村域总面积6.4平方千米。耕地合计700亩，水田占591亩，余为旱地109亩，山林则有7747亩。[1][2]

村子四周群山环抱，溪流曲折绕村。村民主要种植水稻，经济作物有橄榄、茭白和芋头。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1980年起单独设大队，1984年起由村民委员会管理，延续至今。[1]
