新沙社区是双浦镇下辖的社区，位于镇东北部，紧邻之江新城的麦岭沙开发区，绕城公路从社区内穿过。原为新沙行政村，2013年撤村建居，改为现名。[1]

地名由来[edit]

取名新沙的缘由是：沙洲对面有一个老沙村，本村因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

建国初属杭县新宁乡，1956年由新沙、新榔两个农业社组成；1961年隶属袁浦公社，1966年称八一大队，1981年改为新沙大队，1984年设为新沙行政村。[1]
