旺宜村位于通衢镇，城乡分类属村庄。村四周是山，山上崩岗裸露出黄色土壤，耕作地所在为小盆地，早先叫作黄泥塘，后来人丁兴旺，改名旺宜。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代这里称黄泥塘。解放初，它归华新乡所辖；1950年划为旺寨乡。1958年成为旺寨生产大队，1968年成立革命委员会，1977年回到大队，1984年并入华城乡，以旺宜为名。1988年成为“旺宜”管理区，1999年设村委会。[1]
文化[edit]
2026年3月，旺宜村被认定为「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」。2023年5月，广东省爱卫会授予「2022年广东省卫生村」称号；2019年9月，村子上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
