寨背村位于通衢镇，城乡分类属村庄。村名来自村后的虎头寨。该寨与双寨隔河相望，古时两寨同为通衢古城外围的军事据点。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1951年以前，村子属梅城乡；同年改名梅南村，次年又改为寨背小村。1958年建成生产大队，1978年称大队，1984年定名寨背村，1986年设村委会，1988年起为管理区，1999年设村委会。[1]
文化[edit]
2024年3月，寨背村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
