历史沿革[edit]
1958年公社化时，这一带归慎田大队；1983年为慎田乡，1989年单独设上坑管理区，1999年成立上坑村委会。[1]
博雅地名网记载了一则传说：明朝有位皇帝来此避难，因四面皆山、中间是一大片村落，起名「皇洞」，后谐音作「黄洞」，再改称上坑。传说中的「黄洞」与另一个黄洞村同名，其归属尚待核实。[1]
经济[edit]
2017年，龙窝镇全镇唯一的瓷土开采场就在上坑村；镇里同时推动上坑飞尚工业园项目，并引进一家做瓷土深加工的新材料公司。[2]
文化[edit]
2019年9月，上坑村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
