横径村的建置依次为：附城公社黄花大队的一部分（1958年）、黄花公社的田心、元墩大队（1961年）、附城公社横径大队（1963年）、附城区横径乡（1983年）、附城乡横径村委会（1987年）、横径管理区（1989年）、附城镇横径村委会（1999年）。2009年7月起属紫城镇。^[1]

辖区内有一座横径山，村名就取自这座山。^[2]
