五爱村是汕尾市城区捷胜镇的行政村，在镇的东北部，由大塘、坣头、隔塘、马鞍山4个自然村组成。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明代中期，福建和潮汕一带的居民迁到捷胜所东面定居，形成今日的村落。新中国成立后先设沙塘乡，隶捷胜区。1954年，马鞍山、格矿两地自北村划出，另成马格大队；1960年宝头、大矿脱离砂矿乡，组建五爱大队，1963年马格大队并入，同属捷胜公社。1987年起称五爱管理区，至1999年4月；当年5月改为村民委员会。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
据博雅地名网，全村3028人（含渔业人口208人），劳动力1390人；耕地共1049亩（水田350亩，旱地699亩），种蔬菜、水稻、番薯并兼捕捞。当地土壤适合种番薯和萝卜，所产番薯上世纪七十年代曾进京展销。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，进入2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2020年12月和2021年12月，两度获广东省爱卫会授予广东省卫生村称号。[1]
