地名与沿革[edit]
传说村里原有一口塘，长满辣蓼草，村因此叫蓼塘。[1]1951年为蓼塘乡；1958年为大队；1983年复称乡；1987年称村；1989年改管理区；1999年改村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2017年10月，获“第一批广东省卫生村”称号。[1]
著名人物[edit]
罗斧月（1857年—1942年），名献修，出身蓼塘。他在广雅书院受业于张之洞，先在京师大学堂讲授经学，后任中山大学文学院教授，1934年辞职回乡，著有《螺庄诗抄》《荀子讲义》。[2]
