地名与沿革[edit]
据传古时村边有一口四十多亩的大塘，水草丛生，常有鸳鸯等水鸟栖息，故名鸳塘。[1]1949年初成立鸳塘村农会；1958年为大队；1983年11月改乡；1989年至1999年称管理区；1999年起为村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2017年10月，获“第一批广东省卫生村”称号。[1]
著名人物[edit]
罗翼群（1889年—1967年）出生于鸳塘，1907年加入同盟会，后来在孙中山的广州政府中任职，军衔至国民党中将。[2]
