水楼村在兴宁市宁新街道北边，属城乡结合区；博雅地名网记历史学家罗香林为该村人。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
据说新中国成立前村里有一栋楼房，附近和山河涨水，常淹到楼脚，村名由此而来。水楼在1949年至1957年为乡，1958年至1983年为大队，其后先称乡政府（至1986年），再称管理区（1987年），1999年设村委会。[1]
著名人物[edit]
罗香林（1906年—1978年）是客家学的奠基者之一，生于兴宁宁新，博雅地名网记他为水楼村人。[2][3]
