历史沿革[edit]
村落地形像葫芦，原叫蒲坑，“蒲”与“符”同音，后写成符坑；村民委员会设在此村，所以村委会也叫符坑。[1]符坑原属泗水公社，1975年建上举公社时转归上举；此后设（小）乡、村民委员会、管理区，到1999年定为符坑村民委员会。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村域面积9.56平方千米，耕地808.5亩，年均气温约23℃，年降雨量约1698毫米。[1]上举至泗水的公路和畲普公路从村中经过。[2]
经济[edit]
当地春种烤烟和仙人草，秋种粮食，冬种梅菜；仙人草是特色收入，上一年农村经济总收入298.2万元（博雅地名网）。[1]百度百科另提到“黑老虎”水果，并称村里在2024年建起了村级文体中心。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，列入省民主法治示范村（社区）2018年创建单位。[1]
