历史沿革[edit]
1949年设乡；1975年并入新设的上举公社，成为上举生产大队；其后改称上举（小）乡，1987年建村民委员会，1989年曾叫管理区，至1999年又定名上举村民委员会。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村子呈狭长形，房屋沿两侧山脚成带状分布，上举河从中间穿过。东邻符坑，西接龙文，南连畲脑，北与下举相接。[2]全村总面积14.9平方千米，耕地1131.4亩；年平均气温24℃，年降雨量约1700毫米。[1]
人口民族[edit]
百度百科记载，村民姓肖、丘，都是汉族，说客家话；12个小组中有石角、狮堂、塘尾、营场、中心、上新等；该条目的户数、人数（298户、1186人）与博雅地名网略有出入。[2]
