茗教村属惠州市惠东县大岭街道，是街道下辖的行政村。据博雅地名网，明崇祯年间卢氏先祖迁到此处，盼生活平顺，起名明路村，后因「明」与「茗」同音，改为茗教村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1952年设茗教乡，1957年12月并入平山镇。1961年，这里分为茗教、新雅、尧民3个大队，另有青河管理区；1964年重新合为茗教大队，驻新雅村，1968年因交通不便，驻地迁往新化村。1987年3月起依惠东府函〔1987〕27号文叫村委，1990年为管理区，1998年设村委会。[1]
