1957年这里是车福高级社。怀集县人民政府以怀发〔1998〕20号文批准，1998年11月成立车福村民委员会，名称取自村委会驻地的村名。^[1]

经济[edit]

车福村的茶叶产业，列入广东省农业农村厅2020年8月公布的「首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」。^[1]
