塘坳村是广东省茂名市信宜市大成镇所辖的行政村，位于信宜市东面^[1]。名称由来：因村子周围多是丘陵和山坳，地势高低不平、居住分散而取名塘坳^[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

据村情记载，民国时期为白石上乡十二堡，随后解放初为白石上乡十二村，随后1959年相友人民公社设塘坳、垌心、河尾三个生产队，随后1962年合并为塘坳生产大队，随后1983年改设塘坳乡政府，随后1987年设村民委员会，随后至1992年改称塘坳管理区办事处，随后直到1999年才称塘坳村民委员会^[1]。

据博雅地名网所载村情，村内设44个村民小组，在册800户、4235人，总面积12.7平方千米，耕地2300亩；种植的作物主要是反季节蔬菜、八角和龙眼^[1]。村里发展反季节蔬菜种植，并有小水电和花岗石板材收入；记载称上一年农村经济总收入500万元。^[1]

2021年9月，列入广东省农业农村厅公布的「第二批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村名单」（茶叶）；2019年9月，列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位名单」。^[1]
