元塘村在化州市丽岗镇东北部，辖8个村民小组，在册510户、2373人，面积5.8平方千米，耕地930亩，是镇内人口最少的行政村。[1][3]
村内连片的丰产林是特色收入之一，另有罗非鱼、猪和鸡的养殖。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
民国后期和解放初期属北安乡。公社时期（1958年）为镇安公社下属的元塘大队，到1983年成为元塘乡，1987年另立丽岗乡。丽岗镇1988年建立后，这里设元塘村民委员会，1989年名称改为元塘管理区办事处，1999年起定名元塘村民委员会，一直沿用。[1]

年平均气温约23℃，年降雨量约1650毫米，属南亚热带季风气候。[1]
经济[edit]
