历史沿革[edit]
茂胆村民委员会设立于2008年1月25日，依据是雷州市人民政府的雷府〔2008〕6号批复，该批复同意改变塘井、茂胆两个村民委员会的规模。[1]
茂胆窑群[edit]
窑群属唐代，现存窑址堆积物5处，散在茂胆村边、余下村东面坡地和邻近的小村，全是龙窑，尚未清理。出土有碗、盘、碟、罐、豆等器物，施青黄釉，采用平底圆筒形匣钵装烧。[2]1992年，海康县人民政府将其列为文物保护单位。[2]
荣誉[edit]
茂胆村在2021年1月被列入湛江市2020年度「全市文明村」。[1]
