历史沿革[edit]
据《澄海县地名志》，元末明初（约1360—1400年），福建诏安港头乡的沈氏后人先迁到潮州东凤，再有支系迁到富砂村，沈氏又从那里迁至此地定居，卢、郑、陈诸姓随后迁来，共建村庄。因沙洲由河水冲积而成，取名金洲；沈氏是主要姓氏，所以也称沈洲。[1]
据博雅地名网，金洲原属揭阳蓬洲都，1563年归澄海，1932年属上蓬区。此后1984年为外砂区的金洲大队，1986年入外砂镇称金洲管理区，1999年5月改称金洲村；2003年区划调整划入龙湖区，2019年改属外砂街道。[1][3]
