五香溪村是汕头市龙湖区外砂街道辖下的行政村，在外砂河下游，离出海口约6公里，隔堤与澄海区相望。[1] 外砂河流经这里拐五道弯，村名原为“五弯溪”，后改雅为“五香溪”；村民以养禽闻名，有“百禽之乡”的美称。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
五香溪村原为揭阳县蓬洲都辖地，1563年澄海设县后改归澄海。1953年8月划入第五区新溪乡，1958年成为外砂公社下的五香生产大队，1984年称五香溪乡，1986年11月起称五香溪村，1999年3月设村民委员会；2003年1月划入龙湖区，2019年改属外砂街道。[3]
地理与经济[edit]
村土地约1.5平方千米，约700户、3155人，党员近52人。[1] 村民主要务农和养殖：种植台湾“翠秀”苦瓜和良种水稻，养殖以狮头鹅、母鸭为主，被称为“百禽之乡”。[1] 外砂镇旧概况称，村里的养殖专业户有68户，每年养禽超过35万只。[4] 2024年1月，五香溪村又被定为「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]
