历史沿革[edit]
陶吓村始建于清初。林姓先祖发现这里的泥土适合烧制砖瓦，就此定居，最初的村名叫“窑下”。[1] 清嘉庆年间，村民林礼京发了一笔财，兄弟三人在老围的南边另建一座新围，人们把新老两围合称“陶吓”。[1] 村内至今保存着林氏家祠和碉楼。[1]
抗战历史[edit]
1940年冬至1941年初，村里成立抗日自卫队，归广东人民抗日游击队第五大队统一调度。村民林亚森1942年投身广东人民抗日游击总队，三年后牺牲在南雄的战斗里。[1] 2021年，陶吓村被新确认为宝四区人民政府旧址，属于与秘密大营救有关的遗址。[1]

陶吓、元芬两个居委会组成陶元社区，辖区面积8.121平方千米，总人口6.4305万，其中户籍人口9804人，内有冷水坑水库和高峰水库。[2][3] 高峰水库修建于1958年，观沙河流经村域。[1] 百度百科另称，陶吓社区在2022年3月入选首批深圳市绿色（宜居）社区。[1]
