名称与历史[edit]
浪口的得名有两种说法：一说清初吴继旺从大埔迁来，风水先生赖布衣称此地为“大船出海鱼浪口”，因“吴”与“鱼”读音相近，此地利于吴姓繁衍，又因南面的大船坑已由谢姓发展起来，便把大船坑以南取名浪口；另一说是村旁有溪、前有大片良田，形如“大船出海渔浪口”。[2][5] 浪口村的先民来自梅州大埔，到咸丰年间形成完整的客家村落。[2]
1954年，大浪成立石凹、大船坑、浪口三个初级社，1958年三者合并为大浪大队；2007年起设浪口社区居民委员会。[7] 2023年1月4日，原浪口社区分设为浪口和水围两个社区。[3] 当年5月又调整两者边界，分界线改为华悦路、华昌路、华旺路一线。[4]
建筑与文化[edit]
清代留下的客家排屋在村里还有400多座，吴氏祠堂保存得较好。[2] 瑞士巴色差会1891年建的虔贞女校也在村中，2007年成为区级文物保护单位，修缮后于2016年改作艺术展览馆对外开放。[2]
人口与经济[edit]
据博雅地名网，社区总人口约5.6万，其中户籍人口4671人；辖区有金盈新村、宝龙新村和浪口一区、二区、三区共5个城中村，是工业型兼城中村型社区。[3][6]
