历史沿革[edit]
据百度百科，清顺治年间，兴宁何氏迁来此地建村；村子坐落在岩赤岭的一端，因而得名赤岭头。[1] 1993年村子划分为新一村、新二村。[1] 村内的何氏宗祠建于清代，2012年修缮后占地194平方米。[1]
同一来源还记载，武昌起义之后的1911年，村民何玉山和卓凤康率领农民武装攻下南头的新安县衙，何玉山接着担任新安县代县长。[1]
地理与经济[edit]
村北有门前河，西靠海拔约60米的观沙下山，邻近陶吓村、龙胜村，附近有高峰水库。[1] 2015年户籍人口360人，是客家人聚居的村落。[1] 如今集体经济以出租厂房为主，村民收入来自分红和房租。[1] 高峰社区的工作站在2007年3月30日成立；社区里设有赤岭头亲邻之家。[3]
