历史沿革[edit]
海湾最初属于湾厦村（湾下村）。1956年3月16日，村里养蚝的村民组成湾厦新民蚝业合作社，次年转为高级社。[2] 人民公社化时，湾厦的农业社归南头公社，蚝业社归后来改名蛇口公社的西海公社；据当地媒体，有人提议把这个蚝业社并入后海蚝业社，后来决定单独立户，社员靠海生活又是从湾下分出，便取名「海湾」。[2][3] 1959年4月起，海湾作为独立大队与湾厦分设，1961年7月随西海公社改称而归蛇口公社管辖，1983年11月改称海湾村。[2]
1992年9月，海湾成为深圳第一批农村城市化试点单位，成立海湾居民委员会和蛇口海湾实业股份有限公司，村民转为城市居民；2001年居委会改称社区居委会。[2] 1991年和1992年，全国人大的领导人曾先后到海湾视察。[2]
社区概况[edit]
据博雅地名网，社区管辖面积0.45平方千米（1998年12月调整前为1.5平方千米），有总人口一万一千多人，其中户籍人口一千七百多人；辖区含海湾新村、东湾小学、前进大厦等。[1][4] 社区自2008年起开办「四点半课堂」，照看放学后无人看管的外来务工人员子女，2008年12月被中国社会工作协会下属的志愿者工作委员会评为年度优秀志愿服务项目。[4] 2010年，海湾社区被国家减灾委员会和民政部评为「全国减灾示范社区」。[4]
