历史沿革[edit]
当地山势低而平缓，原称平山，“平”谐音作“坪”，遂成今名[1]。1950年设坪山农协会，隶永和乡；1952年与洞头农协会合并为坪山乡，属横水乡；1958年为大队，归全安人民公社，1967年起属帽子峰公社；1988年设管理区，1998年撤区设村委会，沿用至今[1]。
人口与经济[edit]
村民小组共11个，住户323家，合计1835人；面积10.98平方千米，耕地约2100亩[1]。村民以黄烟、水稻、玉米、小辣椒为主要作物，也经营竹木[1]。2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予该村「2021年广东省卫生村」称号；2019年9月，又入选民主法治示范村创建名单[1]。
