历史沿革[edit]
旧时有一条运送竹、纸、炭的山间驿道，由苦竹经洞头、鱼生坑、芳坑，通往白云的中洞。挑运的人到横水后将入山，称此处为“洞之头”，村名据此而来[1]。新中国成立初期设洞头农协会，隶永和乡；1958年起为大队，归全安人民公社；1967年起属帽子峰公社；其后依次称洞头乡、洞头管理区，1998年撤区设村委会，沿用至今[1]。
人口与经济[edit]
村民小组共11个，住户395家，合计1962人；面积18.61平方千米，耕地约2300亩[1]。村民以黄烟、水稻、花生、玉米、小辣椒为主要作物，也经营竹木[1]。洞头村的金丝皇菊，使它进入了2021年9月公布的「第二批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」名单[1]。
