历史沿革[edit]
坛祖1958年设大队，1983年设乡，1987年称村民委员会，1989年改管理区，1998年重设村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
经济[edit]
博雅地名网载：村委会有6个自然村，林地422.8公顷，耕地2027亩，水田只有499亩，旱地占1528亩；260户、1137人，黄白公路贯穿全村。[1]
乐昌市政府网2026年5月的报道称，村里过去山地撂荒、基础薄弱。后来借光伏项目盘活闲置资源，建成油茶基地1070亩，兼种黄烟，既治理石漠化，也杜绝撂荒；村集体经济收入2021年为8.15万元，到2025年达30.82万元。村里每年拿出1.8万元用于长期保洁，2025年依托省第三批典型村培育开展「三清三拆」，并填埋塌陷溶洞、修建挡土墙、硬化巷道、建设污水处理和集中供水设施。[2]
坛祖又是白石镇食用菌新建大棚的三个村之一。[3]
荣誉[edit]
省农业农村厅在2021年9月公布的第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村中，有坛祖村（产业为油茶）；2026年3月，它又被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
对口帮扶[edit]
东莞市万江街道严屋社区与坛祖村结对。2025年8月4日，社区调研组来村座谈、采摘和走访慰问，并购买了价值约4万元的白石镇水果。[4]
