村子沿武江东岸伸展，长达1千米，地多，村名由此而来。^[1]

全村耕地3461亩，其中水田1961亩、旱地1500亩，另有林地600亩；村民种水稻、蔬菜、花生，养猪、鸡、鸭。^[1]2026年1月，长来村获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」，同月入选「2025年广东省“美丽庭院”特色村」名单。^[1]
