闻韶一名的来历有两说：一说取自《论语》“子在齐闻韶，三月不知肉味”；一说是民间传闻，境内石子崎与白石井地下埋有金锣金铙钹，逢盛世丰年，在白竹村屋背岭能听见锣钹声如韶乐。[1][3]
