沈北村是始兴县沈所镇的行政村，村内有曾作广东省委机关驻地的沈所镇红围。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立前，这一带分称四村、五村；其后有沈北乡（1953年）、金旱农庄（1955年）、沈北大队（1960年）几种建制，1983年起又依次改为乡、管理区，1998年设村民委员会。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
沈所镇红围是一座红褐色外墙的五层围楼，清道光年间建成；抗日战争期间的1940年至1941年，广东省委机关曾设在围内。围楼于2009年被增补为广东省文物保护单位（第六批）。[1]
红围的来历[edit]
红围原名奠安围，建于1830年，高约15米，占地995.4平方米，共96间房。1940年7月中共广东省委机关迁入，省委书记张文彬住四楼，电台设在五楼；同年12月省委改组为粤北、粤南两个省委，粤北省委仍驻此，1945年2月围楼被日军焚毁，2010年5月修缮[2]。
荣誉[edit]
沈北村是2023年度的广东省卫生村（2024年3月命名），又在2026年1月入选「百千万工程」第二批典型村，由广东省公布。[1]
