历史沿革[edit]
汤村在1952年与新田、旺村一同编入新田小乡，1954年自办汤村合作社，隶镇龙大乡；1958年改为生产大队，当时镇龙一带归中新公社，1976年从中分出镇龙公社，汤村转属后者。1984年称汤村乡，归镇龙区管辖；1987年1月区改镇，成立汤村村管委会。往后2004年镇龙镇并入增城市中新镇，2005年镇龙片转入萝岗区九龙镇，2014年由黄埔区接管，2019年划给龙湖街道。[3]
地名由来[edit]
相传南宋年间的1228年，汤氏由河南迁入广东，在今汤村的上坊、下坊落户立村，以姓氏为村名[1]。
人口与经济[edit]
村情材料（2006年前后）载，村辖叶田、汤村、黄坳三个自然村，设8个经济合作社，占地2.5平方千米，约有212户、1000人；山地3000亩，耕地1280亩，其中水田占1080亩；另有林地1800亩；农作物以水稻、蔬菜为主。集体经济收入约2万元，主要靠厂房与土地租金，村里仅有两家小型企业，设有汤村小学的一个分校[2]。
村里钟、张、邓、夏几姓人较多；享受低保的有28户，残疾人13人，重度残疾的2人领取补助。[2]
