园夏村在广州市白云区龙归街道辖区内，是一个行政村，面积约1.3平方千米，下设6个经济合作社，曾是原太和镇最西面的村委会。[1][2]村名来自旧称“园下”，意为在大树园之下，后来“下”与“夏”同音，渐渐写成园夏。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，园夏村原名宁睦村，祖辈原住在今南村十五社炮楼一带，后来向西南迁到大树园的下方，称园下。[2]1961年设园夏大队，1984年改称园夏乡，1987年撤乡设村民委员会，当时属龙归镇；2004年随龙归镇并入太和镇，2020年7月划入新设的龙归街道。[1][2]
清代咸丰年间，园下与南村共建南元埠（又称南园埠），为龙归墟运进货物的主要码头。[3]
人口民族[edit]
百度百科记，2021年村里常住2051人，另有外来人口8821人；2005年底，本地户籍1592人。[1]
经济[edit]
村子离白云机场和广州民营科技园都近，2020年时正在建设的空港大道三期从村域中间通过。[1]村委会把不便耕种的地租给企业盖厂房，以租金补充集体收入。[1][2]百度百科载，2005年全村工农业总收入为1543万元。[1]
园夏村2017年10月被评为第一批广东省卫生村，2020至2021年进入淘宝村名单，2022年8月列入广东省民主法治示范村（社区）的创建名单。[2]
