莫村建于1387年，初称莫村，属泷水县，村中有莫氏宗祠。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

清代这里属罗定州城东南乡，民国期间归罗定县第六区。1950年改隶第二区（苹塘区），1953年5月转归第十区（围底区）管辖，1956年11月改归苹塘区。[2]

1958年设大队，归围底公社管辖；1961年转入华石公社。1983年大队改乡，隶华石区；1986年11月至1989年1月乡制取消，村委会取代之，属华石乡；1989年2月划入华石镇。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

莫村莫氏宗祠位于莫村自然村，年代属清，为「第五批罗定市（县）级文物保护单位」，保护范围为文物建筑本体。[3]

文化[edit]

2019年9月，莫村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]

2023年11月，莫村被命名为「第五批云浮市民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]
