白木村属都城镇，为镇乡结合区内的行政村。村地濒临西江，岸边沙地多呈白色，洪水退后常有木材滞留在沙滩上，故先命名为「白木沙」，后改称白木。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年4月设白木行政村，属郁南县第一区白夏乡；1955年设小乡；1957年设白木生产大队。1958年11月至1983年上半年属附城人民公社；1983年下半年至1986年设白木乡人民政府；1987年1月改设白木村民委员会；1989年6月至1998年为都城镇人民政府所辖的白木管理区；1999年起设白木村民委员会，沿用至今。[2]

2019年9月，村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
