榄根村位于新兴县西南部，辖13个自然村和13个村民小组。村内有清平楼、云冠炮楼两处历史建筑。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前，本地曾设农会。1949年10月至1955年间，它隶属新兴县第一区，称簕竹乡。进入1955年，此地划归南平区，至1958年10月改称榄根乡。[1][2]

自1958年11月起划归簕竹公社，设为榄根大队，这一建制持续到1983年11月。1983年12月至1987年3月为簕竹区公所辖下的榄根乡；1986年11月起属簕竹镇，设榄根管理区；1999年3月设榄根村民委员会，沿用至今。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

2026年1月，村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
